Homeless Vets Receive Free Health Care In Sacramento Today

Homeless veterans will have access to free health care at an all-day health fair at the Salvation Army Homeless Center in Sacramento.

UC Davis medical students and local doctors will volunteer their services and provide health, vision and cancer screenings for underserved veterans.

“We’re checking blood pressure and blood glucose, temperature, weight, checking general health,” said Jenni Shuler, a second-year UC Davis medical student, who will also be assisting with prostate cancer screenings.

The health fair is on Veterans Day, Thursday, Nov. 11 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It’s being held at the Salvation Army Homeless Center at 1200 North B Street in Sacramento.
