It looks like Eminem’s triumphant 2010 comeback will extend into next year, as the rapper has earned a leading 10 nominations for the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards including album of the year (for “Recovery”) and record and song of the year (for “Love the Way You Lie,” featuring Rihanna).

Following Eminem’s lead in Grammy nominations is newcomer Bruno Mars, who received a surprising seven nods despite the fact that the release date of his solo debut album, “Doo-Wops & Hooligans,” fell outside of the Grammy eligibility period by one week. Mars is nominated for his collaborations with other artists as a member of the songwriting/production team the Smeezingtons, including Cee Lo Green’s “F***k You” (nominated for both record and song of the year) and B.o.B.’s “Nothin’ On You” (also nominated for record of the year).

Tied with six Grammy nominations apiece are Jay-Z, Lady Antebellum and Lady Gaga. Jay-Z is nominated for record of the year for “Empire State of Mind,” his New York-dedicated duet with Alicia Keys, while Lady Antebellum and Lady Gaga are both nominated for album of the year, for “Need You Now” and “The Fame Monster,” respectively.

In addition to Eminem, Lady A and Gaga, the album of the year nominees are Arcade Fire’s “The Suburbs” and Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream.” “It’s amazing,” Perry said of her nomination. “It’s like no other award show, because I feel like you’re being recognized by your peers… When they nominate you, it’s kind of like a win.”

Record of the year nominees are “Love the Way You Lie,” “Empire State of Mind,” “F**k You,” “Nothin’ On You” and Lady Antebellum’s “Need You Now.” Vying for song of the year are “Love the Way You Lie,” written by Alex da Kid, Skylar Grey and Eminem; “F**k You” by Cee Lo Green, Bruno Mars and Philip Lawrence, “Need You Now” by Dave Haywood, Josh Kear, Charles Kelley and Hillary Scott; Miranda Lambert’s “The House That Built Me” by Tom Douglas and Allen Shamblin; and “Beg Steal Or Borrow” by Ray La Montagne.

As expected, Canadian breakout stars Justin Bieber and Drake are nominated for best new artist, along with U.K. acts Florence & the Machine and Mumford & Sons, and jazz artist Esperanza Spalding.

Noticeably missing from the nominations in major categories was Sade, who made a high-profile comeback in 2010 with its first album in almost a decade, “Soldier of Love.” The U.K. act received two nominations, one for best pop performance by a duo or group with vocals for “Babyfather,” and another for best R&B performance by a duo or group with vocals for “Solider of Love.” Left out entirely was pop newcomer Ke$ha, who was not nominated for her hit-fueled debut, “Animal,” while B.o.B. failed to capture a best new artist nod despite his other nominations.
