Wednesday, a clumsily edited video appeared on YouTube, The two-minute clip, which splices together old news reports from two local Los Angeles television stations, has been viewed more than a quarter-million times on YouTube. The key allegation is purportedly delivered by an on-screen reporter whose back is to the camera.
A spokesman for the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department confirms that Knight was arrested on Dec. 4—on an outstanding warrant for driving without a license. The spokesman said Knight was released shortly after the arrest, and hasn’t been picked up since.
The YouTube video appears to have been first posted by an aspiring Ohio rapper who goes by the name Klasik. It was unclear whether Klasik—whose real name couldn’t be learned—made the video in addition to posting it. His Twitter account was suspended Thursday.
