Looking real cloudy right about now. Is there rain coming? Man, we really do need it!
My LA GRAMMYs Adventure – Me Meeting Malcolm
Fun during a Pre-Grammy party. I spotted Malcolm- Jamal Warner. He was trying to get through the red carpet, and was very kind getting through each reporter. Even one guy who thought to capture a full 20 minutes on a 2 minute interview.
He finally made it through the amateur reporter gauntlet, into the waiting throng of ladies trying to snap a selfie of the former Cosby kid, who is all grown up and keeping in the game with various projects. Good to finally meet him in person and grab a quick pic. Albeit way after the 20 women and their selfies.
Way to stay gracious Malcolm…

Morning Run Beauty in Berkeley 😄
Morning Run just outside of the Berkeley Marina. Waiting for the sunrise. Sitting on a park bench, resting at Cesar E. Chavez Park.
I can feel the warmth of the sunrise…

My LA GRAMMYs Adventure – Small SUR Seats
Saturday Night during GRAMMYs weekend was real cool, but kinda chill. I heard that Sean Kingston’s party got shut down…by the Fire Marshall. Who forgets a liquor permit at a Pre-GRAMMYs in Los Angeles? Anyways, me and the crew decide to grab some grub. Although at the time I had NO idea what SUR Restaurant was, i knew 2 things: I heard it had good food, and we were hungry.
Going into SUR, the place was SO posh, and packed. Happy Hour was crazy! But we were able to grab a couple of Happy Hour dishes at the bar, and converse with a real nice couple from Malibu. I saw important people and other people pretending they were important (hey, this is LA).
We did get a little lounge table and sat down, then I realized I was sitting in the smallest chair EVER! Cute chairs, went great with the decor, but I had that feeling I was back at Kindergarten and raising my hand to ask for a graham cracker.
Good food, good people! The staff was awesome. Then I found out that SUR and the PUMP lounge around the corner were featured on the BRAVO TV show “Vanderpump Rules.” No wonder it was packed. When the server saw me experience my epiphany, she arranged to show us around.
My SUR advice: get a reservation…if you can!

My LA Grammys Adventure – Sexy Hats!
I had fun times in LA during GRAMMYs weekend. Lots of Pre-GRAMMY events and industry shindigs. Like this fashion show in Beverly Hills.
OK, I admit…I have a thing for women in big hats. Something that exudes confidence and regal attitudes in women that I find sexy. Apparently, so does actress and rumored Angelina Jolie “playmate” Bai Ling. She was very nice, gracious, and all about that bass with Miss Derrica of Couture Press in her hat. At least, that’s how I saw it.
Good times…

Big Al’s Fun Times at South Lake Tahoe
Full Disclosure: I have been to Tahoe many times for many years, mostly in the snow for skiing and snowboarding.
Full Disclosure #2: I have NEVER been to South Lake Tahoe.
There, i said it…I’m a bit ashamed to admit that. But not anymore. I went out there during Labor Day weekend. Let me tell you, I had so much fun…I didn’t even want to go back home. You would think all that’s out there in SLT is just gambling and catching a Sammy Davis Jr-type, fake Rat-Pack stage show (well…if you’re into that type of thing). I had the chance to hit Lake Tahoe, straight from my hotel room at Harvey’s. The water was so warm, and what amazed me was that the water was quite shallow. In fact, I didn’t hit the deep part, where the boats were, until at least 75 feet out from the beach. Lots of activity there, from wake boards and kayaks, to jet boats and para gliders. I heard you can even get on a Lake Tahoe Boat Cruise.
Yeah, there were lots of people there…cause it was Labor Day Weekend. But there was more than enough beach and park area (and little nooks and crannies in certain residential areas, if you know where to look). Perfect place for a cookout, a picnic, or just chill out.
I was wondering, I was at Tahoe California side for Winter and skiing, how could I have missed this? Between the Lake, the camping, the shops, the nightlife (at the hotel nightclubs and casino areas) bouncing out the SLT before the snow hits is the perfect weekend getaway. Did Ientiom that the scenic route on Hwy 50 to South Lake was breathtaking?
So, yeah…you need that South Lake Tahoe in your life at east once. It cleared my mind, recharged my batteries, and was back on the mic, ready for blastoff!
You have a South Lake Tahoe story you wanna share with me? Share with the class.
